OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY
The Faculty was founded in 1949 as one of two faculties at the former Veterinary Institute under the name Zootechnical, later Zooengineering Faculty.
The Faculty offers two courses: animal husbandry and management.
There are two-stage studies at the Faculty: 4 years leading" to a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) and 5 years leading to a Master diploma.
The Master studies lead to a diploma of Master-Zooengineer or Master-Zooengineer with the specialization of management, bee-breeding, fish-breeding, fur-breeding, poultry-breeding.
At present the Faculty includes 10 departments, 6 of them are profile ones, where intramural and extramural doctoral (candidate) studies are offered. To faculty members belong 8 professors, 53 asseciate professors. 550 students study today at the Faculty. There is everything necessary in class-rooms and at laboratories in order to master high knowledge in biotechnology, genetics, breeding, feeding, care, keeping and using of farm animals.
The Faculty of Animal Husbandry is authorized to confer university degree - Doctor (Candidate) and Doctor Habilitatus (Doctor of Sciences) in Animal Husbandry. The students take part in scientific work under supervision of prominent professors.
